Seventy-one full-size plates and sixty-eight smaller illustrations, all reproduced in tritone plus tinted varnish, convey the subtlety and power of the magnificent landscapes executed by Edward Weston (1886-1958) between 1937 and 1939, the two years he received a grant from the John Simon Guggenheim memorial Foundation. The book was published on the occasion of a major traveling exhibition of Weston's Guggenheim work organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
