Ein Kater, der durch einen Fernsehsprachkurs für Analphabeten die Sprache der Menschen gelernt hat und auf einer Computertastatur schreibt, bezeichnet sich gleich zu Beginn seiner Erzählungen als modernen Nachfolger von E.T.A. Hoffmanns KATER MURR. Genüsslich vergleicht er Katze und Mensch, wobei Letzterer erwartungsgemäß nicht so gut abschneidet. Witzig, mit Anspielungen und Zitaten aus dem weiten Feld der abendländischen Kultur, vom Alten Testament über griechische Mythologie, Minnesang und die Romantik bis in die Moderne reicht seine Bildung, immer nach- und bedenkenswert, vor allem aber: nie langweilig.
