Por ello, el eje central es el modelo de regresión lineal clásico, cuyos supuestos son desarrollados poco a poco con el fin de abordar problemas econométricos usando datos reales. Los modelos y métodos se presentan de manera rigurosa, sin dejar afirmaciones sin sustento y explicando con precisión los diversos temas. Además, para esta segunda edición, se realizaron mejoras sustanciales, pero con la claridad y agilidad de la primera. Se adicionaron más ejemplos, tanto teóricos como prácticos, así como apéndices de introducción al programa Stata, orientados a aquellos que empiezan a trabajar con datos.
