El 26 de septiembre de 2017 encuentran en el pantano de Susqueda, cerca de Girona, los cadáveres de Marc y Paula, una pareja de veinteañeros que llevaban un mes desaparecidos. No hay pistas. Su coche y su kayak aparecen también hundidos en el pantano. Nadie ha visto nada. Solo se han oído cuatro disparos y ni tan siquiera se recuerda cuándo ni dónde. La periodista Tura Soler se sumerge de lleno en una historia por la que transita un elenco de sospechosos a cuál más peculiar: pescadores furtivos, organizadores de raves, traficantes de marihuana, anacoretas... Un universo que sobrevive a orillas del pantano junto al que acabará siendo el principal acusado, Jordi Magentí, un asesino exconvicto del que la policía no tiene dudas. Ni tampoco pruebas.
