Y al hacerlo, estos dos titanes ideológicos polemizaron sobre cuestiones morales y filosóficas, sobre la naturaleza de la vida política y sobre la mejor forma de acometer el cambio social: gradual y progresivamente (Burke), o radical y velozmente (Paine).
