La amistad entre el Tano Salerni y el Cachi Méndez. El Tano tiene un sueño extraño que se repite fragmentariamente a lo largo del relato. El Cachi se convierte en un político obsesionado con el poder. Y Patricia, que completa el triangulo amoroso, es una pieza clave para armar el sueño recurrente del Tano y definir el rumbo de los hechos. Esta es una historia de lealtad y traición, de pasión, de amor y de muerte. «El sueño recurrente» es una novela de ciencia ficción criolla, un policial negro del conurbano bonaerense, que interroga sobre la realidad argentina (pasada, presente y futura) y arroja un posible final (una hipótesis) para el fenómeno del peronismo. También, es un libro de intertextos, de citas y reminiscencias, donde se cruzan y discuten disímiles voces de la literatura y la cultura argentina y universal: Sarmiento, Arlt, Pizarnik, Walsh, Perlongher, Homero, Nietzsche, La Biblia, el «Quijote», Rimbaud y otros.
