The Pauline Corpus in Early Christianity : Its Formation, Publication, and Circulation Benjamin Paul Laird Tyndale House (eBook), Tyndale House (eBook), Peabody, Massachusetts, 2022
The Pauline Corpus in Early Christianity: Its Formation, Publication, and Circulation offers a comprehensive and wide-ranging examination of the canonical development of the collection of writings associated with the Apostle Paul. The volume considers a number of clues from the New Testament writings, ancient literary conventions related to the composition and collection of letters, and a variety of early witnesses to the early state of the corpus such as biblical manuscripts, canonical lists, and the testimony of writers. As a conclusion to these inquiries, Laird argues that at least three major archetypal editions of the Pauline corpus those containing 10, 13, and 14 letters appear to have been collected and edited as early as the first century. These major archetypal editions, Laird concludes, circulated simultaneously for many years until editions containing 14 letters became nearly universally recognized by the fourth century. The volume serves as a valuable resource of information for those engaged in the study of the early state of the New Testament canon and offers a fresh perspective on the process that led to the formation of the Pauline corpus. --Publisher

Heaven for Kids Randy Alcorn [Alcorn, Randy] Tyndale House (eBook), Tyndale House (eBook), Carol Stream, 2006
Help kids explore biblical answers to their questions about Heaven in a language they can understand. As in the adult title Heaven, Randy Alcorn addresses the difference between the present Heaven, where we go when we die, and the New Earth, where we will live forever with Jesus after he returns. Intended for kids ages 8–12, Heaven for Kids is sure to be an excellent resource for families, especially those in which the parents have read the adult title and wish to pass on that same level of understanding to their children. The book features ten chapters of questions and answers based on Scripture and is written in a style relevant to today's kids. The book addresses kids' common questions about Heaven, like: Can we be sure we'll go to Heaven instead of hell? How can we know what Heaven is like if we've never seen it? Will we have real bodies in Heaven? Will we actually see God? What happens to us the second after we die? The book also has a summary of the gospel for those who want to be sure they are going to Heaven someday. Equip your kids with answers to difficult questions and encourage them to live "in light of Heaven."

All My Secrets Lynn Austin; Tyndale House (eBook), Tyndale House (eBook), Carol Stream, IL, 2024
Bestselling author Lynn Austin returns with a luminous work of historical fiction set amid the opulence of Gilded Age New York, where three generations of women in one family must reckon with the choices they have made and their hopes for the future. New York, 1898. The only thing more shocking than Arthur Stanhope III’s unexpected death is the revelation that his will bestows his company—and most of the vast fortune that goes with it—to the nearest male heir, leaving his mother, wife, and daughter nearly impoverished. His widow, Sylvia, quickly realizes she must set aside her grief to ensure their daughter, Adelaide, is launched into society as soon as the appropriate mourning period passes. If Sylvia can find a wealthy husband for Addy before anyone realizes they’re practically destitute, there will be little disruption to the lifestyle they’re accustomed to. Sylvia’s mother-in-law, Junietta, believes their life could use a little disruption. She has watched Sylvia play her role as a society wife, as Junietta once did, despite what it cost them both. Junietta vows to give her granddaughter the power to choose a path beyond what society expects. But for Addy to have that chance, both mother and grandmother must first confront painful truths about their own choices. Only in bringing their secrets to light can they hope to reshape their family inheritance into a legacy more fulfilling than they ever dared dream. Stand alone Christian historical romance from Christy Award Hall of Fame author Historical drama full of complex family dynamics Perfect for fans of Eve’s Daughters and other family sagas Includes discussion questions for book clubs

The 4:8 principle : [the secret to a joy-filled life Newberry, Tommy Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. : Made available through hoopla, Tyndale House (eBook), Carol Stream, Ill, 2007
Tommy Newberry's message is simple, relevant, powerful, and timeless. In this New York Times bestseller, Newberry takes a single biblical principle and teaches us how one simple truth can magnify the joy we experience in our marriage, with our parenting, and in our life as a whole. Unfortunately, we live in a society bent on nursing old wounds and highlighting what is wrong with just about everything. As a result, we have grown accustomed to viewing the world, our lives, and ourselves through a lens of negativity—and that negativity stands in direct contrast to the passionate, purpose-filled people God wants us to be. This is where The 4:8 Principle grabs our attention. First, the author skillfully persuades us to acknowledge the link between the thoughts we choose to think and the joy we experience. Next, he shows us how we can grow our potential for joy by refusing to dwell upon the problems and pressures that are enduring and inevitable. Finally, he challenges us to pay the price of joy by becoming “extraordinarily picky” about what we read, watch, and listen to on a consistent basis. The strength of the book, though, is in Newberry's ability to clearly explain how to put this principle into daily practice through a series of quick, easy and even fun adjustments. The 4:8 Principle is loaded with specific suggestions and helpful advice for going beyond the ordinary and experiencing life as it was meant to be.

Missions Disrupted : From Professional Missionaries to Missional Professionals Larry W. Sharp; Tyndale House (eBook), Tyndale House (eBook), Peabody, Massachusetts, 2022
Most everything in the world has changed since the age of the "Greatest Missionary Generation," which was an outpouring of missionaries following World War II that lasted until around 1985. Today, however, missionaries are no longer welcomed in most of the world, and Christian terms like evangelism, church planting, conversion, and missions are considered pejorative outside of the Western world. All this demands a reexamination of the theology of Missio Dei for today's world and a theory for change that can be validated with credible research. Author and former missionary Larry Sharp believes that the era of "professional missions" as we've known it is coming to an end. But since God still seeks to redeem his world, the future lies now with "missional professionals," with a new set of rules for how the gospel of Jesus Christ can be proclaimed. Near the end of his life, Billy Graham said, "The great work of God in the 21st century will be through everyday believers living out their faith in the workplace." Since the first century AD, there have been historical events—such the persecution of the early church, the Edict of Milan, and the Protestant Reformation—where major disruption resulted in the radical advance of the gospel. We are on the cusp of another disruptive innovation. Through real-life narratives of international workplace professionals who have successfully integrated their faith with their work, Missions Disrupted describes how this new work of missions looks today. These inspiring stories come from the world of agriculture, manufacturing, medicine, information technology, education, engineering, music, and retail. It is up to the next generations to continue to share the Good News with the world, wherever and however that may be.

Lifemark : hope is at the heart of every journey : a novelization Kendrick Bros. LLC;Chris Fabry; & Chris Fabry Tyndale House (eBook), Tyndale House (eBook), Carol Stream, IL, 2022
For eighteen years, she tried to believe she had made the right decision—for him. But if she never saw him again, how could she ever be sure? Melissa had clung to the thin thread of hope given by the adoption agency that someday her newborn son might want to connect with her. When his eighteenth birthday arrived, she called the agency to simply update her contact information, not expecting a response. Susan and Jimmy Colton had raised their boy with openness about his adoption. After the heartbreaking loss of two infant sons that marked their early years of marriage, they promised themselves they would try not to hold too tightly to David or hold back any information he wanted about his birth. And so they waited on him. David was hesitant to talk about the questions and curiosities about his birth story that often haunted him. But as he neared adulthood, his need to know the full story of his life became something he couldn't shake. Until the call came to the Coltons from the adoption agency, and the first tentative bits of communication and connection set in motion a story that would change all their lives forever. From the team that brought you the movies Courageous and War Room comes Lifemark , the novelization of the new film inspired by a true story of adoption, redemption, and hope.

Insights on 1, 2 & 3 John, Jude Charles R. Swindoll; Tyndale House (eBook), 2018
The four short letters of 1-3 John and Jude deliver powerful messages of correct living in a wrong world and are as relevant today as they were in the first century. Written near the end of the John’s life, 1 John was meant to revive the faith, love, and hope of his readers and encourage them to renew an authentic, contagious walk with Christ. Like two siblings, 2 and 3 John are letters with unique personalities but also some striking similarities, each taking a unique approach to a single, urgent message: balance unconditional love with discerning truth. Jude, the brother of Jesus, writes with a twofold purpose: expose the false teachers that had infiltrated the Christian community, and encourage the believers to stand firm in the faith and fight for it. The 15-volume Swindoll's Living Insights New Testament Commentary series draws on Gold Medallion Award-winner Chuck Swindoll's 50 years of experience in studying and preaching God's Word. His deep insight, signature easygoing style, and humor bring a warmth and practical accessibility not often found in commentaries. Each volume combines verse-by-verse commentary, charts, maps, photos, key terms, and background articles with practical application. The newly updated volumes now include parallel presentations of the NLT and NASB before each section. This series is a must-have for pastors, teachers, and anyone else who is seeking a deeply practical resource for exploring God's Word.
