Perspectives on the Self : Reflexivity in the Humanities Vojtěch Kolman, Tereza Matějčková, Vojtěch Kolman, Tereza Matějčková Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG, 1. Auflage, Berlin/Boston, 2022

The volume develops the concepts of the self and its reflexive nature as they are linked to modern thought from Hegel to Luhmann. The moderns are reflexive in a double sense: they create themselves by self-reflexivity and make their world – society – in their own image. That the social world is reflexive means that it is made up of non-subjective (or supra-subjective) communication. The volume's contributors analyze this double reflexivity, of the self and society, from an interdisciplinary perspective, focusing both on individual and social narratives. This broad, interdisciplinary approach is a distinctive mark of the entire project. The volume will be structured around the following axes: Self-making and reflexivity – theoretical topics; Social self and the modern world; Literature – self and narrativity; Creative Self – text and fine art. Among the contributors are some of the most renowned specialists in their respective fields, including J. F. Kervégan, B. Zabel, P. Stekeler-Weithofer, I. James, L. Kvasz, H. Ikäheimo and others.

Übergänge in der klassischen deutschen Philosophie Jindřich Karásek, Lukáš Kollert, Tereza Matějčková (Hg.) Verlag Wilhelm Fink, Brill Academic Publishers, [N.p.], 2019
Erscheinungsdatum: 07.06.2019

lgli/Logika-Kolman.pdf
Formy jazyka: Úvod do logiky a její filosofie Vojtěch Kolman, Vít Punčochář Filosofia, 2016

(Philosophische Untersuchungen) (German Edition) Tereza Matějčková Mohr Siebeck GmbH & Company KG, Philosophische Untersuchungen, 45, 1. Aufl, Tübingen, 2018
English summary: Criticism is often levelled at Hegel's philosophy of the absolute spirit for its being conceived at the expense of the world. In view of this, Hegel's regular reference to a ""world"" in the Phenomenology of Spirit is somewhat puzzling. How then are we to understand the presence of the world, or even numerous worlds? Tereza Matejcková contends that at every stage of its journey, consciousness designs a new world-model, each built on central concepts of the respective form of consciousness. Consciousness thus finds itself in a world of contradiction, of life, of struggle, or one of ""unhappy diremption"". The point of absolute knowledge is not that the world is now derived from consciousness itself, but rather that it conceives a world-model that corresponds with reality, as whose reflection it itself now grasps.

From Rules to Meanings: New Essays on Inferentialism (Routledge Studies in Contemporary Philosophy) Ondřej Beran, Vojtěch Kolman, Ladislav Koreň Taylor & Francis Group, Routledge studies in contemporary philosophy, New York, NY, 2018
Inferentialism is a philosophical approach premised on the claim that an item of language (or thought) acquires meaning (or content) in virtue of being embedded in an intricate set of social practices normatively governed by inferential rules. Inferentialism found its paradigmatic formulation in Robert Brandom's landmark book Making it Explicit , and over the last two decades it has established itself as one of the leading research programs in the philosophy of language and the philosophy of logic. While Brandom's version of inferentialism has received wide attention in the philosophical literature, thinkers friendly to inferentialism have proposed and developed new lines of inquiry that merit wider recognition and critical appraisal. From Rules to Meaning brings together new essays that systematically develop, compare, assess and critically react to some of the most pertinent recent trends in inferentialism. The book's four thematic sections seek to apply inferentialism to a number of core issues, including the nature of meaning and content, reconstructing semantics, rule-oriented models and explanations of social practices and inferentialism's historical influence and dialogue with other philosophical traditions. With contributions from a number of distinguished philosophers--including Robert Brandom and Jaroslav Peregrin--this volume is a major contribution to the philosophical literature on the foundations of logic and language.

This book examines the role that numbers and reflection on mathematical subjects and truths has played and continues to play in philosophy as a whole. The evolution of the concept of number from natural numbers to real and the transfinite numbers of set theory is developed as a prototype of various Wittgensteinian "language games."

Inferentialism Is A Philosophical Approach Premised On The Claim That An Item Of Language (or Thought) Acquires Meaning (or Content) In Virtue Of Being Embedded In An Intricate Set Of Social Practices Normatively Governed By Inferential Rules. Inferentialism Found Its Paradigmatic Formulation In Robert Brandom's Landmark Book Making It Explicit, And Over The Last Two Decades It Has Established Itself As One Of The Leading Research Programs In The Philosophy Of Language And The Philosophy Of Logic. With Contributions From A Number Of Distinguished Philosophers-including Robert Brandom And Jaroslav Peregrin-this Volume Is A Major Contribution To The Philosophical Literature On The Foundations Of Logic And Language.
